Let’s talk about… perspective

As I continue to develop my own new business, I plan to share certain lessons I learn here, in case they are useful to others in the same position - either now or in the future.

This one here is one of central reflections I have from the first five weeks of running Atom full-time.

When you’re giving everything to make your new venture a success, it can feel like those you need to make it happen aren’t listening, or don’t care.

This isn’t the case. It’s just that you need them so much more. They have their business, and whilst they may collaborate in time, there isn’t the same urgency to reply to messages to see if there’s a synergy.

It’s basically about maintaining perspective - keep the centre of your world on what you’re growing and developing, be patient, and allow the creative space in your brain to work by preventing unnecessary feelings of frustration clogging it up.

It’s not easy, but hopefully a reminder like this will help. If you have any thoughts on this, feel free to comment!
